YANKADI

Yankadi/Makru were two of the rhythms that I learned from my djembe master: Aboubacar Fatouabou Camara in Guinea.

This is a tradtional Danse/Rhythm from the Sousou people of Guinea Conakry. Makru is the second Dance/Rhythm that is always played after Yankadi.

Abou gave me permission to record and release the rhythms that he taught me.

MAKRU

This is a 2 part rhythm:
Yankadi being the first part and Makru the 2nd.

These are traditional rhythms that are played and danced by the Sousou people of Guinea, West Africa. My djembe master Aboubacar Fatouabou Camara gave me permission to record and release these rhythms.

TRIBA 1

This rhythm is from Guinea Conakry, West Africa
The rhythm originally is from the Landouman ethnic group. The Landouman would travel to Conakry to perform Triba for weddings and various celebrations.
Today Triba is played and danced by many ethinic groups in Guinea including the Sousous and Malinke.

TRIBA 2

Here is a slower version of Triba with a alternate dunun part.
This rhythm is from Guinea Conakry, West Africa

KU KU

Ku Ku is a rhythm/dance from Belya in Guinea.
This rhythm was originally played on 2 low djembes.

It is now played with a full djembe ensemble.

This is a tradtional rhythm from Mali West Africa. It was taught to me by Mickey Seguin Jr
of Montreal,Que.

It was taught to Mickey by Alpha Ya Ya Diallo.
